Abstract:
This work reports on a behavioural study by means of single cell tests of pore-filling electrolyte membranes. The membranes are based on microporous polyethylene (PE) matrices, previously plasma-activated and using Nafion® as an electrolyte coating. In addition, the single cell is studied working in the symmetrical mode by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), for the purpose of designing an equivalent circuit, whose elements would allow to explain the different processes taking place in the electrochemical system. The results obtained indicate that the pore-filling electrolyte membranes present a more stable behaviour with temperature in the single cell than the commercial polymer Nafion®.
